ADDA – New digital Slowscan Interface for SEMs and STEMs
|
Münster, September 2006 - At this year’s M&M show – Chicago, Illinois, USA, and IMC, Sapporo, Japan, Olympus Soft Imaging Solution has introducing the ADDA III to their EM product line.
The new digital scanning interface in integrated in both EM imaging platforms - iTEM and Scandium - offered by Olympus Soft Imaging Solutions. The new SEM/STEM interface ADDA III offers a breakthrough in performance for SEM digital image acquisition. This new hardware guarantees fast transfer rates for image and other data via FireWire technology and two distinct acquisition modes – passive and active. Acquisition speed is 50 times faster compared with its successor, the widely familiar ADDA II. Image acquisition is supported for images up to 16k x 16k with dynamic ranges of 14 bits. The ADDA III allows acquisition of up to 4 images and 16 EDX channels simultaneously. The input channels are optimized for the lowest possible noise and highest signal fidelity. The input characteristics are adapted automatically to the different acquisition modes (integration time, bandwidth, etc.) via specialized electronics. Full integration of the ADDA III with the Scandium SEM imaging platform provides access to all state-of-the-art real-time features: e.g. auto gain control, online histograms, etc.). And naturally, there's a full range of modern archiving and analysis functions available for immediate use with acquired images.
