The iTEM software solution telePresence consists of several server modules, each of which covers a specific respective set of functions. This is what makes communication between a telePresence client to the telePresence server possible.
The connection
The communication module manages the telePresence server and transports all data and commands between client and server. The TCP/IP connection guarantees variable speeds, depending on the internet or LAN bandwidth available.
Image transmission
The live image of the camera is prepared for the client. In order to attain optimal performance, the images being transmitted can be compressed. All cameras hooked up to a GrabBit PCI and our FireWire cameras may be used.
Microscope and stage control
Users control microscope functions is via intuitively designed dialogs (both for light and electron microscopes). The telePresence stage drivers offer remote control operation of motor stages.
Discussion mode
Images of the client and of the server are synchronized. Both sides can make comments regarding the image. These comments are immediately visible for the other party.
